Dodge Law offers a variety of services under the umbrella of Estate Planning. The most common and well known terms in estate planning are "wills" and "trusts" which are instruments used in the overall planning of a client's estate. The purpose of estate planning can be different for each client. Whether it is to decrease tax liability at the time of death or to ensure the heirloom necklace is passed to the correct niece or nephew, there is a purpose for everyone. With estate planning, there are documents intended to be used in the event the client becomes incapacitated or unable to make certain decisions for him or her self. These documents are called a Health Care Proxy and a Power of Attorney. These documents can avoid having to involve the court, as well as ensure the client's wishes are carried out as they want them to be. These documents are intended to grant the named individual(s) access and authority to act on the client's behalf, in his or her best interest, until such time the client is again able to make those decisions.

Finding an Attorney the client trusts and is comfortable with is important, especially when discussing such sensitive topics. The first goal at Dodge Law is to make the client feel comfortable so the process can go as smoothly as possible and cover all aspects the client needs.
